Airways
are the major medium of transport and communication. They are the most
effective means of transport of goods and services. To handle air cargo
it is necessary that an airport must have all the facilities including
hangars, runways, etc. For constructing airport, apart from excavators,
loaders, cranes, dumpers and spray trucks are also used.
Truck mounted spray or simply bitumen sprayer is generally truck mounted or
are mounted on other carriers and are designed for spraying hot bitumen.
Bitumen is heated in the truck through high capacity burner. The tank of
the spray truck is fully insulated with steel sheets. Pressure cleaning
system is applied in the spray trucks to avoid clogging. Bitumen is
delivered with good pressure through spray bar.
Spray trucks are powered by a diesel engine and is driven by a fixed
displacement hydraulic motor. In some spray trucks there is a system of
uniform density electric heating.
